Matthew Herbert does remix of Readymade FC-track “The Light At The End Of The Tunnel”

Jean-Philippe Verdin is a French multi-instrumentalist composer, also known as Readymade FC and Akzidenzgrotesk. After a childhood surrounded by music, and an adolescence spent forming English-language pop bands, Jean-Philippe Verdin found his voice at the end of the 1980s.

First in West Berlin, where he was drafted into the army and discovered the Berlin underground, with its beats and bass. Then in Paris, where Philippe Cohen-Solal, the future creator of Gotan Project, took him along to a rave at Jussieu University. That was it: the next day, he stopped all pop activities and soon bought himself an Atari sequencer to start getting his fingers into machines while working as a graphic designer and art director. At the age of 30, he joined F Communications, the flagship label of the French touch, where he signed several EPs. Recognised as a pioneer of electronica in France, he has developed his work in a variety of fields, including cinema and fashion. He was asked to work on “Visionaire Sound Issue” alongside Laurie Anderson, Yoko Ono, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs and Lalo Shifrin, among others. In recent years, he has also composed music for films such as LoL (No. 1 Box Office in France), Tout Ce Qui Brille (No. 1 Box Office in France) and Et Si On Vivait Tous Ensemble, among others. After unveiling his album “I Can Change” in June, this week he offers us a remix of his hit single with Queen Kaltoum, “The Light At The End Of The Tunnel”, by Matthew Herbert!
