Twenty-five years after the release of his landmark album ‘Próxima estación: Esperanza’ and the now-legendary tour with his band ‘Radio Bemba’, French-Spanish artist Manu Chao returns to the stage with a new series of confirmed dates across Europe.

This new tour continues the live promotion of his most recent studio album ‘Viva Tú’, released in 2024. As in recent years, Manu Chao performs under the name ‘Manu Chao Ultra Acústico’. On stage, he is accompanied by two core musicians: young Argentine guitarist Mati ‘Matumatiok’ and Galician percussionist Miguel Rumbao.

However, the format remains deliberately open and fluid. Manu Chao is known for reshaping each concert depending on the city, the space, and the moment. He regularly invites local musicians to join him on stage, resulting in unique, unrepeatable performances. In previous shows across Belgium and the Netherlands, guests have included Congolese-Belgian rapper Badi and members of the Orchestre International du Vetex.

True to his approach, he continues to avoid the conventional commercial touring circuit. Instead of large arenas or standard venues, he selects alternative spaces such as industrial sites, cultural squats, and independent locations, prioritising atmosphere over commercial structure.

A Manu Chao concert remains a distinctive experience where social engagement, collective energy, and musical travel come together. The setlists draw from his solo catalogue as well as the legacy of his former band ‘Mano Negra’, alongside albums such as ‘Clandestino’ and ‘Próxima Estación: Esperanza’.

As he puts it: ‘There is not only a future in China. Even when the world is upside down or life is full of mistakes.’ (‘No solo en China hay futuro! Mundos al revés, ekivokadas vidas.’)
