Atmosphere Announces “The Traveling Forever Tour” This October
Atmosphere has announced a new run of headline dates for October, aptly titled “The Traveling Forever Tour.” This tour features support from NOFUN! and Reverie, and includes stops in Casper, WY, Aspen, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Flagstaff, AZ, El Paso, TX, Lincoln, NE, North Kansas City, MO, Fayetteville, AR, Birmingham, AL, Charleston, SC, Norfolk, VA, Athens, GA, and Madison, WI. The tour also includes never-before played stops in Saxapahaw, NC, Knoxville, TN, Charlottesville, VA, Nashville, IN, and Davenport, IA. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 am local time.
“Hear Hear” Music Video Release
The renowned Minneapolis hip-hop duo has unveiled their video for “Hear Hear (feat. Bat Flower)” from their latest EP, “Talk Talk.” Directed by Slug of Atmosphere & ZooDeVille, the video was filmed amidst bustling city streets and features Polaroids captured at various social gatherings of loved ones. Each snapshot conveys the message that a piece of someone significant is ever-present, offering support and a listening ear regardless of location or circumstance. “Talk Talk” EP was released via Rhymesayers Entertainment in December of last year. The genesis of this EP was during a recording session for the title track, “Talk Talk,” which originally appeared on their latest album, “So Many Other Realities Exist Simultaneously.”
Upcoming Performances and Festivals
The Minneapolis duo is currently gearing up for a run of EU dates before returning to the States for their “Tour De Friends: Part Trois” headline tour in August. They are also set to perform at Bayfest in San Diego, the Reggae On The Way Festival in Tacoma, WA, Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival in Olympic Valley, CA, Britt Music & Arts Festival in Jacksonville, OR, Rhyme Fest in Los Angeles, CA (headlining), and Reggae Rise Up in Las Vegas, NV. Additionally, Atmosphere will headline at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on Friday, August 16th, marking their 12th headlining performance at the historic venue.
Recent Releases and Collaborations
Atmosphere recently reissued their 2007 mixtape “Strictly Leakage,” which had originally been pressed on a limited run of vinyl and CD, quickly selling out. Fans were left chasing bootlegs and digital files to hear the project. Now, the project has returned to double-vinyl LP and CD, made available for retail distribution for the first time. The duo also made their cult, early 2000’s mixtape “Sad Clown Bad Dub 2” available for the first time ever. They were recently featured on The Danny Brown Show podcast, and Slug contributed to The New York Times’ “50 Rappers 50 Stories” in celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip hop last year.
