Paul Young’s “No Parlez” reissued for 40th-anniversary
|Paul Young’s 1983 debut “No Parlez” is being reissued for its 40th anniversary as a 2CD deluxe set, and on limited SDE-exclusive blu-ray audio. Paul Young’s solo debut “No Parlez” was one of the most popular albums of the 1980s in the UK. Released in July 83, the album became a commercial phenomenon, taking up residence in the top 10 where it remained for an astonishing 32 consecutive weeks (barring one seven-day spell at #11) until March 1984. It features the top 10 hits ‘Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home)’ (#1), ‘Come Back and Stay’ (#4) and ‘Love of the Common People’ (#2).
CD Two features the key 7” Versions and Extended Mixes, as well as three further tracks, two of which did not appear on the 1983 album and one was added to the Cassette and CD formats.
Now, four decades on, this titan of 80s pop is getting a 40th-anniversary reissue.
