Buddy DeFranco dead at 91

American jazz clarinet player Buddy DeFranco passed away last christmas-night, 24th december. De Franco was born in New Jersy, USA, 17 february 1923 and has been playing for over 75 years. He was one of the most musical accomplished clarinetists in jazz ever. The clarinet player played with names like Gene Krupa, Charlie Barnet, Art Tatum, Sonny Clark, Billie Holiday, Oscar Peterson. Also, Buddy played clarinet in The Count Basie Septet and from 1966 till 1974, DeFranco lead The Glenn Miller Orchestra. DeFrance died last wednesday in the Panama City, Floirida, hospital, 91 years old. He will be missed by his wife of 44 years, Joyce DeFranco, and many jazz lovers.
