On Friday evening, January 24, D-A-D fans gathered at AKKC in Aalborg, Denmark, for a rock night promising an unforgettable musical experience. The concert marked a highlight for the band celebrating 40 years of activity and featuring their recent album “Speed Of Darkness”. The promising metal band Baest would open the show, known for their intense energy and heavy riffs.

Baest and Their Gateway to Hell

Baest is quite the experience! We had the pleasure of seeing them as the warm-up act for headliner D-A-D in Aalborg at AKKC. And let me tell you, Baest got us warmed up!

The music pleasantly surprised us, and the vibes were amazing. Then Simon stepped onto the stage and grabbed the mic. Suddenly, it was as if the gates of hell had opened. We had a vivid vision of Hades, Mephisto, and the Devil himself—all of them having a blast listening to Baest.

The pure energy these guys deliver rivals that of Denmark’s best live band, D-A-D. This was art at its finest. Sure, we’ll probably never decipher the lyrics Simon growls, but it doesn’t even matter. His vocals are incredible. The depth of his range is profound, awakening something new in every member of the audience.

Their stage presence was captivating in an understated way. They didn’t need to rely on over-the-top antics or flashy gimmicks to hold our attention. Instead, it was their passion, precision, and connection as a band that shone through. Every note they played felt deliberate, yet natural, as though they were channelling the music rather than simply performing it.

Their interaction with the audience was equally impressive. Simon’s occasional glances and gestures toward the crowd created a sense of connection as if the band was sharing a special moment with everyone in the venue.

By the end of their set, it was clear that Baest had left an indelible impression. They are a band that doesn’t just play music—they create an atmosphere, a shared experience that stays with you long after the show ends.

A true force of nature, Baest is an unforgettable live experience—an undeniable must-see for any metal fan!

D-A-D: Rock Royalty with an Unmatched Edge – 6 out of 5 Stars!

If you haven’t experienced the sheer brilliance of D-A-D, you’re missing out on one of the greatest rock bands ever to come out of Denmark—or anywhere, for that matter.

We came for the usual amazing D-A-D experience. We got something even more amazing! We’ve seen our fair share of live shows with this band, but this one stood out in a big way. From the very first note of “God Prays to Man”, there was an unmatched energy that felt otherworldly— one would think they partied in hell shortly before this…

“God Prays to Man” is from their new album, and, as always, it felt like coming home in the best way possible. The setlist was a masterful mix of old and new, but here’s the thing—everything felt fresh. Classic songs like ‘Evil Twin’ and ‘Helpyourselfish’ were reinvented with new twists in both vocals and instrumentation. The reworked versions of their classics brought a fresh energy, transforming them into something exciting and unexpected, and proving that even the most iconic tracks can evolve without losing their essence. The audience loved every moment, cheering and singing along with each surprise.

Each time D-A-D appears on stage, they are, without exception, outstanding—engaging the audience and making every single person an essential part of the experience. From Jesper Binzer’s gravelly voice and imposing personality to the scorching guitar riffs of Jacob Binzer and the iconic two-string bass of Stig Pedersen, everything about their performance was a complete success. Their engaging performances, characterized by playful banter and high-octane energy, created an intimate and electrifying atmosphere. Every detail, from the lighting to the audience’s participation, was indicative of something: it wasn’t just a concert, but a celebration.

D-A-D demonstrates once more that they are not only a rock group— they are an experience. If you’ve never witnessed them firsthand, then you’re missing out on some genuine witchery. To those of us who’ve already seen them a couple of times, they’ve once again exceeded all expectations with this amazing live performance. How else would you rate a group like that other than a 6 out of 5? Anything else would be inadequate to say the least.
