Saxon is an influential British heavy metal band formed in 1977 in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. The band was part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement, which gained significant popularity in the late ’70s and early ’80s. Led by vocalist Biff Byford and guitarist Paul Quinn, Saxon developed a powerful and energetic sound that quickly earned them a loyal fan base. Their breakthrough came with the albums “Wheels of Steel” (1980) and “Strong Arm of the Law” (1980), which are considered classics of the genre. These records include some of their best-known tracks, such as “747 (Strangers in the Night)” and “Heavy Metal Thunder”.
In the following years, Saxon remained firmly rooted in the heavy metal scene and maintained their reputation as a live band. Although their mainstream popularity declined in the ’90s, the band stayed active and continued to release new albums, expanding their fanbase worldwide. Thanks to their determination and authentic heavy metal style, they have become one of the most respected and enduring bands in the genre. To this day, they continue to tour and create music, solidifying their status as pioneers of heavy metal.
The new album “Hell, Fire And Damnation” brings fiery energy and powerful riffs, produced by Andy Sneap and Biff Byford. This classic British heavy metal album combines the old NWOBHM sound with modern power. Don’t miss this unique chance to see Saxon live at their best!
