Oasis Reunites After 15 Years

It’s happening! Oasis fans were on the edge of seats this morning as Liam and Noel Gallagher had been teasing a major announcement on their social media for some time. Rumours that the brothers would finally bury the hatchet and reunite for a tour had been circulating for a while, and now it’s official. Oasis will be touring the UK in July and August with 14 shows.

After fifteen years of conflict, the Gallagher brothers will finally take the stage together. Liam confirmed these rumors, retweeting on social media, “See you at the front.” He even gave his brother Noel a shout-out during his performance at the Reading Festival, hinting that there was something to announce today, Tuesday. The date and time of today appeared on the screen above the stage in the iconic Oasis logo.

It will be the first time since 2009 that Liam and Noel will share the stage. Back then, Noel Gallagher had announced the end of the band “with some sadness but great relief” just before their performance at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. Another argument, in which Noel narrowly avoided a guitar thrown at him by Liam “like an axe,” was the final straw. From that moment, the brothers went their separate ways: Liam with Beady Eye and Noel with his High Flying Birds. They didn’t speak for fifteen years, using social media to criticize each other publicly.

According to sources close to the band, the Gallaghers recently reconciled during a late-night phone call. They will never be the best of friends, but they want to revive Oasis for the fans. They’re not getting any younger, and they realise it’s now or never. Noel had stood his ground all this time but has now relented. Both brothers know that this reunion will go down in history.

The tour is expected to be worth more than £400 million, about €472 million, with the brothers pocketing around €60 million each.
