GRLwood Announces Tour to Support New Album “BLOOD”

Louisville rock band GRLwood is hitting the road to support their newly released album “BLOOD,” the first instalment in a trilogy of albums set to drop this year. Following the release of “BLOOD,” the band will unveil “SWEAT” and “TEARS” later in the year. Every song on “BLOOD” was crafted by GRLwood’s founder, Rej Forester—a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist—and recorded in the unique setting of her bathroom closet home studio.

“BLOOD” emerges from deep emotional struggles, capturing the raw intensity of navigating difficult times. The album dives into themes such as the anxiety of financial instability, the pain of betrayal and abuse, and the journey of healing from wounds inflicted by others. Through it all, Forester maintains a belief in love and the inherent goodness of people.

The album’s intense, fast-paced tracks convey the anger and frustration of being pushed to the brink, while also charting Forester’s healing journey. The blistering opener, “What,” sets the tone for the brutally honest and introspective tracks that follow. Songs like “I Bet You’re Perfect” and “Kid Bruises” explore themes of insecurity, identity, and hopelessness, while “Pay the Rent” reflects Forester’s struggles with poverty. Though much of the album delivers the signature ferocity expected from GRLwood, tracks like “Overwhelmed” and “Burn it Twice” showcase more ethereal, contemplative soundscapes.

GRLwood, known for their explosive live performances and fearless dismantling of toxic heteronormative ideologies, has cultivated a dedicated following. With over 500 million streams on Spotify and a growing social media presence, the band has become a voice for outsiders who resonate with their music.

This fall, GRLwood will be bringing their new material, along with fan favourites, to stages across North America and Europe. The tour includes a highly anticipated stop at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris, where fans can experience the band’s raw energy and hear the new songs live for the first time. Don’t miss the chance to see GRLwood in action as they continue to push boundaries and deliver their unique brand of noise rock.
