Men At Work Announces U.S. Headlining Tour for Fall 2024
|Grammy Award-winning rock band Men At Work, led by original member Colin Hay, is set to embark on a U.S. headlining tour this fall. Formed in Melbourne in 1979, Men At Work quickly rose to fame with iconic hits like “Down Under,” “Who Can It Be Now?,” “Be Good Johnny,” “Overkill,” and “It’s a Mistake.” The band enjoyed global success, earning a Grammy and achieving multi-platinum status before disbanding in 1985.
Due to popular demand, Colin Hay and Greg Ham reunited in 1996, reviving Men At Work and touring the world until 2002. Following the untimely death of Greg Ham, Hay, while touring Europe as part of Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band in 2018, began to consider the possibility of bringing Men At Work back to the stage once again.
“Night after night, audiences came out to see and hear the true icon that Ringo is and showed only love and appreciation for all the All Starrs and their respective songs,” recalls Hay. “I was curious to find out if Men At Work still had an audience and how many of them there were.”
Since 2019, Colin Hay has occasionally performed under the Men At Work banner, including a tour in 2022 with John Waite and Rick Springfield. With his LA-based group of musicians, Hay delivers a set that focuses almost entirely on Men At Work’s greatest hits, songs that have thankfully stood the test of time.
The current touring lineup for Men At Work features Jimmy Branly on drums, Yosmel Montejo on bass, and SanMiguel on guitar, all originally from Cuba. Scheila Gonzalez joins on sax, flute, and keyboards, with Cecilia Noël providing harmony vocals and percussion.
Colin Hay expresses his excitement for the upcoming tour, stating, “I love playing in this band. Not only do we play well together, but we travel well also, which has equal importance. So, off we go on our merry way around this fair land, in the month of October 2024. Very much looking forward to it.”
The Men At Work U.S. tour kicks off on October 10th in Dallas, TX, and will make stops in cities across the country before wrapping up in Del Mar, CA, on November 3rd.
