Testament Announces Remastered Releases of ‘The Legacy’ & ‘The New Order’

Iconic Bay Area thrash metal pioneers Testament are proud to announce an explosive celebration of the band’s enduring legacy and influential presence in the thrash metal scene. On July 12th, Testament will release remastered versions of their seminal albums ‘The Legacy’ and ‘The New Order’ both digitally and on vinyl via Nuclear Blast Records.

Chuck Billy states, “When ‘The Legacy’ and ‘The New Order’ were first recorded, we were a young band with limited resources. Now, with the remastering, fans will hear the albums as they were intended to be heard, in their signature sonic onslaught.”

Today, the band offers fans previews of the remastered versions completed by Justin Shturtz at Sterling Sound. Singles ‘Over The Wall’ from ‘The Legacy (Remastered 2024)’ and ‘Into The Pit’ from ‘The New Order (Remastered 2024)’ are now available for streaming on all platforms, accompanied by video visualizers.

‘The Legacy’ has been meticulously remastered by Justin Shturtz at Sterling Sound. It will be available digitally and on 180G vinyl in a striking red and white swirl with black splatter, limited to 1500 copies worldwide. The release includes alternate cover artwork, gatefold packaging with new liner notes, and an oversized booklet featuring never-before-seen images.

Similarly, ‘The New Order’ has also been remastered by Justin Shturtz at Sterling Sound. This album will be available digitally and on 180G vinyl in a captivating blue and purple swirl with black splatter, also limited to 1500 copies worldwide. It features alternate cover artwork, gatefold packaging with new liner notes, and an oversized booklet with rare, previously unseen photos.
