Maxazine Presents: 49 Winchester (Curated by Chase Chafin)

49 Winchester is an alt-country band from Castlewood, Virginia, founded by Isaac Gibson, Chase Chafin, and Bus Shelton. Their musical journey began ten years ago, driven by a shared passion for music and a desire to transcend their small town. Since then, they have evolved into a prominent player in the alternative country genre, characterized by their unique blend of country and rock.

Following the success of their latest album ‘Fortune Favors the Bold,’ the band is now heading to Europe. The band’s new album embodies a more mature approach to their music, with a sharper focus and renewed creative energy. Produced by the band themselves and Stewart Myers, the album features collaborations with renowned musicians, including the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, singer-songwriter Maggie Antone, and others.

With tracks like ‘Yearnin’ For You,’ 49 Winchester captures the essence of life on the road, the sacrifices made, and the joy of reuniting with loved ones. Their music is infused with stories of home and the road, remaining true to their roots while exploring new horizons. Through their dedication to their art and their ongoing evolution as musicians, 49 Winchester continues to inspire fans worldwide.

This month, the band is touring Europe, so Maxazine asked the band to submit a list of their musical footprint, the 49 Winchester Essentials. Co-founder Chase Chafin took on the challenge and exclusively compiled the musical footprint of 49 Winchester for Maxazine: the best collection of their songs to get to know the band quickly. Proudly presenting: 49 Winchester Essentials, curated by Chase Chafin.
