Frank Farian passed away

Frank Farian, the German producer who had a major influence on pop music in the 1970s and 1980s, died on Monday. Farian was responsible for some of the biggest hits of the era, including the music of Boney M and Milli Vanilli. He died at his home in Miami.

Farian was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in 1941. He began his career as a songwriter and producer in the 1970s. In 1974, he formed the disco group Boney M, which became a worldwide sensation with hits such as “Daddy Cool”, “Rivers of Babylon” and “Rasputin”. Farian was also one of the first to put together successful pop groups of artists from different ethnic backgrounds. Boney M was a multicultural group with members from Germany, the Netherlands, Jamaica and Barbados and sold more than 150 million albums worldwide. It became one of the best-selling disco groups of all time.

In 1988, Farian produced Milli Vanilli, a duo of white boys singing over a backdrop of black studio singers. Milli Vanilli won two Grammy Awards, but the fraud was eventually exposed and the group was exposed. Farian was convicted of fraud and had to pay a fine.

Despite the controversy, Farian remained a successful producer. He produced for Terence Trent D’arby, No Mercy, Stevie Wonder and Meatloaf. However, he rejected a request from Michael Jackson, possibly to mask the deception surrounding Milli Vanilli. However, Farian was a great producer who changed the world of pop music. He was a pioneer in disco music and was also one of the first to put together successful pop groups of artists from different ethnic backgrounds.

Farian had also released a few songs himself, including a cover of Otis Redding’s “Mr. Pitiful” and a German version of Dickey Lee’s ‘Rocky’ Farian started the supergroup Far Corporation, featuring Steve Lukather, David Paich, Bobby Kimball, Simon Phillips (all members of Toto) and Robin McAuley. Farian’s music has had a lasting impact on pop music. His hits are still popular and are still played on radio and television. Farian’s music has also inspired a new generation of musicians.

Farian’s death was met with sadness by fans and colleagues. Many said Farian was a ‘legendary producer’ who ‘left an indelible mark on music culture.’ The music industry called Farian a ‘pioneer of disco music’ and a ‘visionary producer.’

Just before his death, Maxazine coincidentally spoke with Farian, who put together the Milli Vanilli Essentials especially for Maxazine. These Essentials will be available online one of these days. Frank Farian is 82 years old.
