First Official Live Album in 40 Years

Curt Smith shared his thoughts on the project: ‘We decided to film the live show last year. I think a lot of people don’t know that we are a good live band! They see a duo and think it’s going to be two people with a couple of keyboards and backing tapes, and that’s it. But over the years, we’ve grown immensely since our heyday in the Eighties.’ Roland Orzabal added, ‘We’ve never released an official live album, so you could say this is an album forty years in the making.’

Worldwide Film Screening

The concert film will premiere on October 24 and 26 in more than 1,100 theatres worldwide. Kymberli Frueh, SVP of Trafalgar Releasing, stated: ‘Tears For Fears’ cinematic soundscapes and powerful lyrics deliver unforgettable concert experiences for fans, creating emotional connections to the music in a vibrant, communal atmosphere. “Tears For Fears Live (A Tipping Point Film)” celebrates the timeless impact of the band’s artistry on legions of fans of all ages, and we are honoured to bring it to cinema audiences worldwide.’

New Music and Iconic Hits

“Songs For A Nervous Planet” offers an impressive collection of Tears For Fears’ live performances, featuring a setlist of 22 songs. In addition to their iconic hits, the album includes four new studio tracks: “Say Goodbye To Mum And Dad,” “Emily Said,” “Astronaut,” and the newly released “The Girl That I Call Home.” Roland Orzabal revealed about the song: ‘My wife Emily has been asking me for years to write her a love song. Eventually, I did, and she loves it.’

Recorded at the same time as the live album, the concert film “Tears For Fears Live (A Tipping Point Film)” features the band’s classic hits like “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” “Shout,” “Sowing The Seeds Of Love,” “Mad World,” and “Head Over Heels,” alongside new favourites from their album “The Tipping Point,” their first studio release in 17 years.
