Penny Bored Announces Debut EP “I’m Bored”

Fresh off the announcement of their signing with Richmond-based label Open Your Ears Records, pop rock artist Penny Bored is excited to reveal that their debut EP “I’m Bored” will be released on September 13th. The EP includes the lead single “Dance In Hell,” which is already available for streaming.

A Journey Through the 20s

Songwriter Faith Alesia, the creative force behind Penny Bored, shares insights into the new EP: ‘”I’m Bored” is all about navigating your 20s. It captures the heartbreak, the evolving friendships, the gossip, and the important lessons of owning up to our mistakes. This collection of songs reflects my personal journey of stepping into a new phase of adulthood and finding ways to make the most of it—even if it means being a little delusional at times to get through the day.’

The Message Behind “Dance In Hell”

Speaking about the lead single, Alesia adds: ‘”Dance in Hell” explores my relationship with self-sabotage, but more importantly, it emphasizes the need to find positivity in negative situations.’

Nostalgic Pop Rock with a Modern Twist

Penny Bored, the solo project of Faith Alesia (they/them), is known for blending catchy melodies with honest lyrics that address mental health and personal struggles. Drawing inspiration from early 2000s pop rock, Alesia uses these nostalgic sounds to create a safe space for listeners to connect and feel less alone. Alesia reignited their passion for music during the summer of 2020 and continues to spread the message that it’s never too late to follow your dreams.
