Doobie Brothers and Steve Winwood to support Jeff Lynne’s ELO at BST Hyde Park

Iconic British band Jeff Lynne’s ELO will deliver their final performance on Sunday, July 13, at the Great Oak Stage in Hyde Park, London. The sold-out show will feature an impressive lineup of guest acts including The Doobie Brothers, Steve Winwood, and Dhani Harrison.

“My return to touring began at Hyde Park in 2014,” explains Jeff Lynne. “It seems like the perfect place to do our final show. We couldn’t be more excited to share this special night in London with our UK fans. As the song goes, ‘we’re gonna do it One More Time!'”

The Doobie Brothers

The Doobie Brothers—consisting of Patrick Simmons, Tom Johnston, John McFee, and Michael McDonald—will bring their good-times rock and roll to Hyde Park with instantly recognizable hits including “Takin’ It to the Streets,” “What a Fool Believes,” “Listen to the Music,” “Black Water,” and “China Grove.”

Born out of Northern California’s chaotic, late-1960s musical stew, The Doobie Brothers’ rugged and authentic approach to music made them biker bar stalwarts. Their self-titled debut album in ’71 revealed musical layers beyond leather and motorcycles, featuring sweet three-part harmonies and rootsy, introspective acoustic flavors.

The band will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2025, adding to their impressive list of accolades, which includes induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004. With four Grammy Awards and more than 48 million records sold worldwide (including three multi-platinum, seven platinum, and 14 gold albums), their musical legacy is firmly established. Their 1976 “Best of the Doobies” has sold more than 12 million copies, earning rare RIAA Diamond status. The group is set to release a new studio album titled “WALK THIS ROAD” in June.

Steve Winwood

Singer-songwriter, legendary vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, producer, Grammy winner, and BMI Icon Steve Winwood has sold more than 50 million records in his five-decade career. His compositions include “Gimme Some Lovin’,” “Back In The High Life Again,” “Can’t Find My Way Home,” and “Arc Of A Diver.”

After bursting to prominence in 1963 at the age of 15 with the Spencer Davis Group, he co-founded Traffic and Blind Faith with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker. As a session player, he has contributed to landmark recordings by Jimi Hendrix (“Voodoo Chile”), The Who (“Tommy”), James Brown (“Gravity”), George Harrison (“Dark Horse,” “George Harrison”), Tina Turner (“Break Every Rule”), Billy Joel (“The Bridge”), Christina Aguilera (“Back To Basics”), Paul Weller (“Stanley Road”), and many more.

Winwood has received numerous accolades, including the Ivor Novello Outstanding Song Collection, the BMI Icon Award, the Musicians Union Classic Rock Award, and The Nashville Symphony Harmony Award. He has been nominated for 11 Grammys, winning two. Traffic was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004, and in 2005, Winwood was honored for his “enduring influence on generations of music makers” by BMI. Among his countless memorable London performances, he played at Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee commemoration at Buckingham Palace in 2002.

Dhani Harrison

Multi-Grammy Award-winning musician, composer, and artist Dhani Harrison has enjoyed a career spanning the musical spectrum. He released his debut album, “IN///PARALLEL,” in 2017, which Rolling Stone dubbed a “psychedelia-tinged journey into modern-day disconnect.” His second solo album, “INNERSTANDING,” followed in 2023, featuring collaborations with Graham Coxon (Blur), Liela Moss (The Duke Spirit), and Mereki.

MOJO magazine lauded “INNERSTANDING” in its review, reporting: “INNERSTANDING finds Harrison marking out his territory, sustaining a brooding musical atmosphere and filling it with sterling melodies.” Spill added: “Harrison has created a masterpiece with this album. INNERSTANDING is brilliant, from the stark front sleeve to the sounds found on the record.”

Jeff Lynne’s ELO

Recognized as one of the most iconic forces in music history, Jeff Lynne’s ELO has delivered critically acclaimed and chart-topping albums along with sold-out tours across the UK and Europe in recent years. Jeff Lynne was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2023, and the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.

Famous for their epic shows with a distinct style that seamlessly blends rock, pop, and classical music, ELO has had more than 20 Top 40 hits across the US and the UK. Lynne’s sweeping productions have become some of the most recognizable music of the last forty years, helping to sell over 50 million records worldwide.

Their signature UFO descending on stage and spectacular production immerses audiences in their world, with string sections, cutting-edge technology, and an array of musicians faithfully recreating ELO’s incredible recordings. Global hits like “Mr. Blue Sky,” “Don’t Bring Me Down,” “Evil Woman,” “Livin’ Thing,” “Turn To Stone,” and “Telephone Line” have traveled the world, fusing classical with electronic and rock.
