More than four months before the Óbuda Island in Budapest is transformed into The Island Of Freedom, Sziget Festival is dropping a load of new names. Halsey and Liam Gallagher will headline the festival alongside Fred again.., Martin Garrix, Sam Smith and Stormzy. Janelle Monáe, RAYE, Tom Odell, Editors and Skrillex are also on the bill.

American pop singer Halsey is coming to Sziget this summer for a headline show on Thursday, August 8. In addition to her, Liam Gallagher will also travel to The Island of Freedom, as part of the anniversary tour of Oasis’ debut album “Definitely Maybe”. He’s one of the headliners on Friday, August 9, the same day as UK grime great Stormzy. The big winner of the Brit Awards, RAYE will make her debut on Sziget next summer, just like the American soul and R&B singer Janelle Monáe.

The organization announces a total of 40 new names, including the electronic duo Modeselektor, the Danish pop icon MØ, the American pioneer Skrillex and the British singer-songwriter Tom Odell. Other new additions include Editors, Franc Moody, Neil Frances, Sven Väth and LANY.

With these additions, the line-up of the six-day festival is already taking shape. Sziget director Tamás Kádár adds: ‘“’We are extremely happy to have Liam Gallagher and Halsey as our new headliners. Liam Gallagher will perform on the same day as Stormzy. A keen eye might see that more acts will be added later.’

Sziget is one of the largest festivals in Europe. The Óbudai Island in the Danube will be submerged into The Island of Freedom and will host hundreds of artists over six days, from major acts to new talent. There are also workshops, circus, sports, theater, panels, art of freedom and more. Every year, visitors from all over the world travel to Budapest. Sziget will take place in Budapest this summer from August 7 to 12.
