Sabaton Announces New Tour For 2022
|The Swedish power metal band Sabaton will tour the UK and Europe in March and April next year as part of The Tour To End All Tours. The Mongolian rock band The HU will be a special guest during this tour and the evening will be opened by the Finnish heavy metal band Lordi.
Last year was a difficult year for bands around the world, including Sabaton. Instead of giving up their musical ambitions, the Swedish metal battalion forged biggest tour plans that make fans’ hearts beat faster: that’s how The Tour To End All Tours came about. In the spring of 2022, Sabaton will bring their groundbreaking modern metal and flaming live shows to twenty-six cities in seventeen different countries.
Sabaton is one of the biggest and progressive names in the modern metal scene. With their power metal, the band won multiple nominations for the Swedish equivalent of the Grammy Awards, the Grammis.
In 2016, the album ‘The Last Stand’ debuted at number 1 in three different European countries and reached the top 3 position in four other countries. Singer Joakim Brodén, bassist Pär Sundström, guitarist Chris Rörland, drummer Hannes van Dahl and guitarist Tommy Johansson curate their own festival, Sabaton Open Air, which started in 2008, just like their own Sabaton Cruise which they started in 2009. Their latest album ‘ The Great War’ reached the Top 10 position in 11 countries, including #1 positions in Switzerland, Germany and Sweden. At the beginning of 2020, the band was still performing in a sold-out AFAS Live in Amsterdam with this album.
Pär Sundström, Sabaton’s co-founder and bassist says: “We have all been waiting for far too long for this… And we are more ready than ever. By the time we start this tour we will have a whole treasure chest of new songs to play along with a lot of other surprises. You don’t want to miss The Tour To End All Tours.”
