Asian Dub Foundation releases new single

Asian Dub Foundation

Asian Dub Foundation return with their ninth studio album Access Denied, a booming fourteen-track collision of militant lyrical soundclashing and wildstyle industrial beats, confronting themes surrounding hostile border policies, nationalist politics and the climate crisis.

On Indo-Drum N’Bass punk banger and second single, Stealing The Future ADF ring the alarm, “hands up if you’re a citizen of nowhere and you’re not scared”, a riposte to former prime minister Theresa May’s troubling comments in 2016 following the Brexit referendum. Under tripped-out distorted guitars and lashing Amen-break drums, Asian Dub Foundation’s calls to reclaim the rhetoric from incompetent political figures “Stealing our future” and rally against divisive anti-immigrant sentiment is a stirring and uplifting ode to the group’s “conscious party” approach.

As lead guitarist and ADF co-founder Steven “Chandrasonic” Savale reminds us “Music works viscerally. This is not defeatist music. It’s not a lock-yourself-away-from-the-world music. It taps into this hedonistic urge to dance and party. Your dancing and partying against the way things are”.

Access Denied is set to be released on X Ray Production on September 18th
