Pixies Announce Exclusive Spotify Session Plus World Tour 2014
|Band Readies for Australia, European and Japanese Summer Festivals and North American Autumn Tour. The iconic Pixies braved January’s winter blizzard to travel to Water Music in Hoboken, NJ to record an acoustic performance exclusively for a Spotify Session.
The band – Black Francis (vocals, guitar), Joey Santiago (guitars), and David Lovering (drums) were joined by touring bassist Paz Lenchantin who played violin and sang background vocals, for a six song set comprised of four songs from Pixies just-released album, Indie Cindy, and two from the band’s 1987 debut, Come On Pilgrim. Spotify also conducted a 13-track, exclusive Q&A with Pixies, where they discussed the new album, current global tour and much more.

Spotify is releasing this Session globally today with a major promotional campaign including newsletters, in-client marketing, social posts, and much more. Pixies 2013-2014 extensive global touring schedule is back in full swing beginning May 23 with a four-night stand at Australia’s Sydney Opera House. Pixies then play a series of major festivals throughout Europe, travel to Japan for the Summer Sonic festivals, and then kick off Leg Two of their North American tour in late September.
