Live Nation Continues Asian Expansion With Launch Of Live Nation Taiwan

Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: LYV) and B’In Music International Limited today announced that they have entered into a joint venture to form Live Nation Taiwan. Live Nation Taiwan will focus on promoting international, Taiwanese and other Asian acts in Taiwan, as well as using the Live Nation global network to export Taiwanese acts to other countries around the world. The joint venture will be based in Taipei and will be led by Ngiam Kwang Hwa who has over 20 years experience in the music industry, including promoting shows by artists such as Mayday, G-Dragon, Jennifer Lopez and Chicago.

livenation smallLive Nation’s partner in Taiwan, B’In Music, is one of the most successful Taiwanese management companies, whose main act, Mayday, is arguably the largest rock band in Asia having sold over 10 million albums and 20 million tickets worldwide. Michael Rapino, Live Nation Entertainment CEO and President said: “Our partnership with B’In Music is another great step in our global expansion, allowing us to bring more international and regional shows to music fans in Taiwan.”

Alan Ridgeway, Live Nation President of International & Emerging Markets, said: “Taiwan is one of the strongest economies in Asia and its proximity to the established touring markets of Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong make it an ideal stop on any Asian tour.”

Ngiam Kwang Hwa said: “The combination of Live Nation’s international touring power and its Asian network along with B’In’s local experience and its roster of Taiwanese acts will enable our new company to rapidly become the leading promoter in Taiwan. Live Nation and B’In Music’s first collaboration will be a tour of Europe and North America by Taiwan’s leading rock band, Mayday. The tour starts in London on February 21, followed by dates in Paris (Feb 23) and Amsterdam (Feb 26). The tour then moves onto North America, starting on March 17 in Vancouver and then followed by Toronto (Mar 20), New York (Mar 22), Chicago (Mar 24), Houston (Mar 26), San Jose (Mar 28) and Los Angeles (Mar 29).

Live Nation operates across 10 countries in Asia and now has offices in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and Singapore.
