Hungary’s Sziget Festival announces another wave of new acts for the upcoming edition. In addition to last week’s Delta District names – including Amelie Lens, Steve Angello, and Don Diablo – Empire of The Sun, FKA Twigs, Little Simz, Michael Kiwanuka, The Last Dinner Party, Portugal. The Man and more will perform at The Island of Freedom.

The announcements for Sziget 2025 are following each other in rapid succession. ‘Last week, we announced the strongest electronic lineup in our history for the three stages of the new Delta District. Today we’re adding a lineup that showcases the diversity of the festival,’ says Tamás Kádár, festival director of Sziget.

FKA Twigs was originally scheduled to debut at The Island of Freedom in 2020, but COVID-19 disrupted those plans. Now she’s finally making up for this missed opportunity, bringing her new album Eusexua. Little Simz, winner of numerous music awards and one of the stars of the popular Netflix series “Top Boy,” will also perform in Budapest this summer. The rapper with Nigerian roots is known for her explosive live performances and brings a new album: “Drop 7.”

A welcome guest at The Island of Freedom is the Australian electro-glam-pop duo Empire of the Sun. An act that seems to be pulled straight from a science fiction movie and possesses an excellent song catalogue for festivals, including hits like “Walking on a Dream” and “We’re the People.” Another of the newest stars in the international rock scene, The Last Dinner Party, will also join. The five-piece, all-female band won a Mercury Prize last year and impressed music critics with their debut album “Prelude to Ecstasy”.

Musician Michael Kiwanuka joins the Sziget 2025 lineup on Friday, August 8. The British songwriter enchants international concert halls and festival fields with his charismatic soul. The Island of Freedom is the next location he will captivate, featuring songs from his newest album “Small Changes”. A band that has been on the scene even longer and is a pioneer in contemporary indie rock is Portugal. The Man. The festival favourite will rock Budapest with their ninth studio album “Chris Black Changed My Life,” but festival hits like “Feel It Still” and “Live in the Moment” will undoubtedly create a spectacle.

Last week, Sziget Festival announced an entirely new area with three stages: the iconic Yettel Colosseum, BOLT Night Stage (formerly Party Arena), and the brand-new The Club. On Thursday, the complete lineup for this area was dropped via a livestream, featuring Belgian techno icon Amelie Lens, Swedish House Mafia member Steve Angello, future house cannon Don Diablo, as well as Mathame, Miss Monique, Alok, Oguz, Chris Liebing, Pegassi, Len Faki, VINI VICI, Agents of Time, and Partiboi69.
