Propstore’s 2025 Music Memorabilia Auction to Feature Lennon, Oasis, Michael Jackson and More

Propstore, one of the world’s leading entertainment memorabilia auction houses, has announced details of its next major music auction, taking place in London on October 23–24, 2025. The two-day event will feature more than 550 lots of rare instruments, stage-used items, handwritten lyrics and personal effects from some of the biggest names in music history, with a combined estimated value of over $4 million.

Highlights from Lennon to Oasis

Among the most notable items is John Lennon’s tinted prescription glasses from his so-called “Lost Weekend” in Los Angeles, estimated at $198,000–$396,000. The glasses were worn during the former Beatle’s infamous 18-month stretch in the mid-1970s, a period that produced some of his most iconic solo work.

Oasis fans will find the auction particularly significant. Over 150 pieces connected to the Britpop giants are going under the hammer, including Noel Gallagher’s cherry red Gibson ES-355, famously damaged by his brother Liam during the 2009 Paris incident that marked the band’s split (est. $330,000–$660,000). Also included is Gallagher’s Takamine FP460SC acoustic guitar, used to record “Wonderwall,” from the collection of engineer Nick Brine (est. $264,000–$528,000). The Oasis material will be offered mainly during the second day, which is being presented as an online celebration timed with the band’s long-awaited reunion tour.

Michael Jackson collectors will also have their eyes on the white fedora he wore in the 1988 “Smooth Criminal” video, immortalised in the Moonwalker film and its gravity-defying lean routine. The custom-made hat is expected to fetch between $52,800 and $105,600. Elvis Presley’s original pair of Grand Prix sunglasses, used as the mould for his signature “TCB” shades, will also go on sale, with an estimate of $10,560–$21,120.

Other lots include Jimi Hendrix’s handwritten working lyrics for “Straight Ahead,” Trevor Horn’s SSL mixing desk from Sarm West Studios, Slash’s Gibson Les Paul prototype, Freddie Mercury’s kimono, and a signed letter from David Bowie to John Peel.

Accessible for All Budgets

While top-tier pieces carry six-figure estimates, Propstore notes that the auction also caters to collectors with more modest budgets. Items such as a Zak Starkey-signed Oasis drumskin, a Kate Bush-signed “Babooshka” single, and a Harry Styles-worn T-shirt from the Take Me Home tour are expected to sell in the hundreds rather than thousands.

Voices from Inside

Mark Hochman, Propstore’s music specialist, described the auction as “a celebration of music history, with guitars that shaped the sound of a generation, handwritten lyrics that capture the first spark of legendary songs, and personal items that offer a glimpse into the lives of the world’s greatest music artists.”

Former Oasis drummer Zak Starkey also commented: “I’m extremely proud of my work with Oasis and being able to give fans the opportunity to purchase genuine memorabilia in Propstore’s music auction is a way of them being able to share the journey.”

Event Details

Day one of the auction will be held in person at The Cumberland Hotel in London on October 23, with day two (October 24) dedicated to the Oasis collection and conducted entirely online. Global bidders will be able to participate via the Propstore website, as well as through absentee and telephone bidding.
