John Lodge of The Moody Blues Announces 2024 US Tour
|Rock and Roll Hall of Famer John Lodge, renowned bassist, songwriter, and vocalist of The Moody Blues, is set to embark on a highly anticipated US tour in November 2024. Following the success of his recent sold-out shows, Lodge will continue celebrating the iconic music of The Moody Blues, with a special focus on the groundbreaking album “Days of Future Passed”.
The tour, titled “Performs Days of Future Passed,” promises an electrifying experience for fans. The show is divided into two captivating sets. The first features beloved Moodies classics such as “Isn’t Life Strange,” “Legend of a Mind,” and “I’m Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band)”. The second set presents “Days of Future Passed” in its entirety, complete with symphonic arrangements and stunning renditions of “Nights in White Satin” and “Tuesday Afternoon”.
Lodge’s performance is enhanced by mesmerizing visuals, creating an immersive journey through time. The show also pays tribute to his former bandmates, with Lodge performing songs written by Mike Pinder and Ray Thomas. In a touching addition, the late Graeme Edge appears on screen, reciting his poems “Morning Glory” and “Late Lament”.
A special guest on the tour is Jon Davison of YES, who lends his soaring vocals to Justin Hayward’s compositions. Davison, who is also Lodge’s son-in-law, brings a unique familial warmth to the performances.
Lodge expressed his enthusiasm for the tour, saying, ‘My hope is that we can all take a trip down days of future passed together and that audiences will leave feeling as if something joyful happened to them.’
The tour also supports Lodge’s latest album, “Days of Future Passed – My Sojourn,” available on CD, streaming services, and limited edition vinyl.
Accompanying Lodge on stage is his ‘10,000 Light Years Band’, featuring Alan Hewitt on keyboards, Billy Ashbaugh on drums, Duffy King on guitars, and Jason Charboneau on cello.
With a career spanning over five decades and more than 70 million albums sold with The Moody Blues, John Lodge continues to captivate audiences with his timeless music and passionate performances.
