To begin the evening, Mantra, travelling from Costa Rica, brings their unique mix of death and thrash metal to open Psychosounds Fest 2024. High energy with all the headbanging and heavy riffs you’d hope for, complemented by brutal vocals. A perfect way to open this epic festival.

Next is Exuviath, from Romania; these heavy thrashers have audacious energy. The vocalist throws himself around the stage while the guitarists and bassist add to this high-powered performance with their crushing riffs. The crowd is thrilled by this dynamic yet brutal entertainment. A brilliant show to build on the night.

Following is Ildaruni, black metal from Armenia, instantly ripping up the stage with roaring vocals and ruthless guitars, backed by heavy bass and blasting drums. This increases the building atmosphere of dark anticipation within the room and among the festival-goers.

L.O.S.T., melodic death metal from Romania, continues the flow of the night. Guttural vocals accompany blast beats and speedy picking, raising the mood of the crowd into a powerful frenzy.

Supporting the headliners coming in from Austra, Mastic Scum brings their incredible mix of death metal and hardcore to the stage. The band members’ interactions entertain the crowd, and their animated performance keeps the evening going with more intensity and no signs of stopping.

Headlining the festival is Inferno, hailing from the Czech Republic, with their haunting black metal. They come on stage with a mysterious atmosphere, starting with just the drummer in situ, building the crowd’s suspense. Followed by the guitarist and bassist, all hooded and playing chilling melodies, and lastly, the fully cloaked vocalist, completing this darkly ghostly act. What a way to get the crowd over midnight with their natural sinister vibes, drawing the audience into their darkness.

Flown in from the UK is the black metal act Stahlsarg, headlining this night. A force to be reckoned with, wild energy flares as they darken the stage with their deafening cries from the instruments along with the screams from the vocalist. The crowd engagement is something to behold, with the guitarist shrieking into the audience while accepting the offerings of their drinks before him. The interaction between the band members builds on the performance. With the theatrics of ‘Darkness My Accomplice,’ the patrons are in awe.

To close the night, Avoid Humanity’s deathcore sounds bring a vibrant end to the evening, introducing an unexpected second vocalist to enhance the experience. An epic end to a glorious night.

In summary, the Psychosounds Festival was an astounding night for all to enjoy the waves of various metal genres from all over the world, taking them on the most epic ride of music of their lives. This is surely a night that will be remembered long after the hangovers are gone.
