EIVØR embarks on a European tour
EIVØR, the singer with the mystical, powerful and multi-faceted voice from the Faroe Islands, has made an increasingly bigger name for herself in the field of film and games soundtracks and in the “Nordic Music Scene” in recent years. With her unique, spherical Viking Electro / Ethnopop, she is now returning to the European Tour in 2022 after a very successful big tour. She is also working on a new album for a release in 2024.
EIVØR created the soundtrack for all seasons of the Netflix hit production “The Last Kingdom” together with Ivor Novello and BAFTA-nominated John Lunn. You can also hear it in the soundtrack. Her voice impresses with its characteristic beauty, intimacy and a variety of colors. She also worked on soundtracks for series such as “Homeland” and “Game of Thrones”.
The new official “Last Kingdom” album “Destiny Is All” was released in April 2023. EIVØR can also be heard on the soundtrack to the video game success “God of War Ragnarök”. She performed at the “10 Years Games Award” anniversary show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles in 2023.
EIVØR is perfectly in harmony with the wilderness and changeability of nature. She grew up in Syðrugøta, a tiny community of 453 people on one of the northern Faroe Islands, surrounded by harsh, windswept landscapes and the North Atlantic. Not surprisingly, this rugged background profoundly influences the music she creates.
EIVØR Pálsdóttir, as her full name is, already has ten studio albums in her portfolio, the current “Segl” was released in 2020 and also resulted in a Segl live album. She can look back on numerous collaborations with other artists, including Àsgeir, John Grant, Einar Selvik (Wardruna) and Dan Heath (Lana Del Ray), making EIVØR one of the most versatile and distinguished artists in the Nordic sphere. She is also one of the most vocally fascinating live virtuosos of her generation. EIVØR is known for their atmospheric, archaic performances. In 2021 she was awarded the Nordic Council Music Prize and the Icelandic Music Award twice. Recently, EIVØR has performed at several metal music festivals, including Wacken Open Air and Hellfest.
The European Tour 2024 will feature a set of songs from their albums and their film and series soundtracks with great production and band – and of course the new songs from the album that will be released in 2024. The Norwegian metal multi-instrumentalist Sylvaine will be there solo as a special guest.
