State Champs Announce New Self-Titled Album and North American Tour
|Albany-raised pop-punk band State Champs has officially announced their highly anticipated fifth studio album, a self-titled record, set for release on November 8 via Pure Noise Records. The announcement comes with the debut of two punchy singles, “Silver Cloud” and “Too Late To Say.” The music video for “Silver Cloud” features frontman Derek DiScanio breaking free from a mundane life, alongside characters played by the rest of the band.
A Showcase of High-Energy Pop-Punk
Produced by Anton DeLost (Mayday Parade, Hawthorne Heights), the upcoming self-titled album promises to deliver some of the most edgy, high-energy tracks that have defined State Champs’ career. ‘We found our way, through the ups and downs within us, personally and as a band, and wanted to express that,’ explains Derek DiScanio. Bassist Ryan Scott Graham adds, ‘When we stepped back and looked at the songs, sonically and thematically, it’s a great vision of who we are. Every era of State Champs exists within this record.’
A Decade of Pop-Punk Leadership
Nearly 15 years since their formation, the band members—Derek DiScanio (lead singer), Ryan Scott Graham (bassist), Tyler Szalkowski (guitarist), and Evan Ambrosio (drummer)—have experienced significant personal growth. These changes have influenced their music, resulting in a record that is big, bold, and slick, yet retains the raw energy of a band performing live.

A Legacy of Success
Starting in bedrooms and basements in 2010, State Champs quickly became leaders of a new pop-punk scene. Drawing inspiration from bands like Fall Out Boy and Green Day, they have become one of the most recognizable names in the genre, building authentic connections with their audience through smart songwriting and passionate performances.
Their sophomore album, “Around the World and Back,” debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Current Rock Albums chart and made Rock Sound’s Top 10 Albums of the Year. With accolades from major publications and collaborations with pop-punk heavyweights like Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low) and Mark Hoppus (Blink-182), State Champs continue to cement their legacy in the pop-punk world.
