EXIT announces 2026 Global Tour following Government pressure in Serbia

EXIT, one of the world’s leading music festivals, is entering a new chapter in its history. After announcing it will not return to the Petrovaradin Fortress next year due to political pressure from Serbian authorities over its support for student protests, EXIT is embarking on a world tour that will bring its signature festival energy to locations across the globe, from the Mediterranean coasts of Malta and Croatia to the Great Pyramids of Giza and the landscapes of India.

The festival’s founder and CEO, Dušan Kovačević, stated: ‘After 25 years at the Petrovaradin Fortress, EXIT is now spreading its wings to the world. We aim to unite continents through our festivals and carry the spirit of freedom wherever we go. For us, music has always been more than entertainment – it’s a powerful force that brings people together and builds bridges between nations and cultures. Our mission is to awaken new generations to believe that a better world is possible, and that it all starts with each one of us.’

The announcement of the first destinations took place 50 meters above Amsterdam at EXIT’s party during the Amsterdam Dance Event, held at the Crane Faralda venue.

The first stop will be Croatia, where the Sea Star Festival takes place in the Stella Maris lagoon in Umag, Istria. Over the years, this festival has hosted major acts including The Prodigy, Wu-Tang Clan, Paul Kalkbrenner, Fatboy Slim, Amelie Lens, and Nina Kraviz. Organisers promise the next edition will be the strongest yet.

June begins with a festival in Macedonia, while August brings a festival series across several locations in Malta, in collaboration with G7 Events, one of the island’s leading local promoters.

In October, the EXIT team travels to Egypt, where contemporary music will meet the timeless setting of the Great Pyramids of Giza. EXIT’s partner on this project is Venture Lifestyle, Egypt’s leading event promoter, known for organising performances by artists such as Solomun, Peggy Gou, Carl Cox, and Anyma at the pyramids and other exclusive locations across the country.

November brings events in two cities: Mumbai and Belgrade. This marks the first time EXIT has organised an event in India, choosing Mumbai, recognised as the country’s business centre and the capital of Bollywood entertainment.

For the Serbian audience, EXIT has adapted its No Sleep Festival, winner of the Best New European Festival award, into what promises to be one of the continent’s biggest electronic music events. More information about each destination and the rest of the EXIT Global Tour 2026 program will be announced in the coming weeks.
