Smukfest 2025: Magical Moments Beneath the Beech Trees

Smukfest 2025 once again offered unforgettable concerts, where nostalgia, surprises, and raw energy went hand in hand. From timeless classics to punk-rocked Disney songs – the day had everything a festival lover could dream of.

Michael Learns to Rock – Has Michael Learnt It Yet?

Michael Learns to Rock. You would think they had long since learnt everything there is to learn – but on the Star Stage, they proved otherwise. They delivered a concert that felt both familiar and full of energy.

From the very first song, the audience was gripped by a calm confidence that only a band with decades of experience can exude. The big hits rolled out like pearls on a string, and every song was met with sing-alongs, wide smiles, and hands in the air. The atmosphere was nearly magical – a moment where hundreds of people sang as one voice.

Michael Learns to Rock delivered exactly what the audience had hoped for: warmth, nostalgia, and plenty of musicality. They showed that timeless songs never lose their power – they only grow stronger with the years. A fantastic concert that imprinted itself on both heart and memory. Michael has learnt it!

Punk Rock Factory – the coolest unconventional punk rock band!

Smukfest truly welcomed outsiders when Punk Rock Factory took the stage – and what a blast of a concert! The Welsh band undoubtedly delivered the festival’s coolest show from an international act, and they did it in their way: with punk-rocked versions of songs you would never have imagined hearing in that setting.

A huge thrill ran through the audience when they started with “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid, which quickly transformed the venue into one giant sing-along party. And when they tackled the theme from the British cartoon Arthur, both younger and older festival-goers laughed, shouted, and jumped in time. Add a few irresistible versions of Britney Spears hits, and the party was complete.

Punk Rock Factory combines raw energy, humour, and virtuosity in a way that is completely unconventional – yet utterly irresistible. The audience experienced a show where surprise and joy went hand in hand, and where punk energy became a pure communal celebration. Undoubtedly one of this year’s highlights at Smukfest.

Cut’n’Move – Cindy still looks amazing!

Cut’n’Move proved at Smukfest 2025 that the 90s have never been more alive. From the first beat, the Moon Stage exploded in pure dance joy, and it quickly became clear that the stage was far too small for the thousands of festival-goers crowding together to sing and jump along to the iconic hits.

Cindy led the way, sharper than ever. Her voice was razor-sharp, her charisma radiated – and yes, she still looks amazing! Together with the rest of the band, she created a party that felt like a time machine back to an era where everything was about dancing, laughing, and partying without restraint.

The audience responded with hands in the air, sing-alongs on every song, and an atmosphere that most of all resembled a gigantic club party under the beech trees. Cut’n’Move delivered not just a concert – they delivered pure euphoria. 6 out of 5 stars. No doubt: this was one of the biggest and most unforgettable moments of the festival.

Texas – Sharleen has only gotten better!

Sharleen Spiteri was in full swing when Texas took the stage at Smukfest 2025. She hasn’t aged – she’s only gotten better! With her distinctive voice, sharp humour, and sparkling energy, she quickly won over the audience.

The concert had a relaxed atmosphere, perfectly suited to the festival’s fourth day, when the audience had gradually adopted more laid-back outfits. In the same spirit, Sharleen herself appeared on stage in clothing that could best be described as sofa-worthy – and that made the experience even cosier and more intimate.

The music was delivered with ease, and the songs elicited both sing-alongs and smiles from the audience, who enjoyed being part of a concert where the energy was high but the vibe remained grounded and informal.

Texas proved that good songs and a strong frontwoman do not require glitter or grand gestures. They only require genuine presence – and they delivered it in full.

Iggy Pop – still rocking!

When Iggy Pop steps on stage, you never quite know what to expect – except one thing: full energy. At Smukfest 2025, he once again proved why he still carries the title of The Godfather of Punk.

It was clear that his scoliosis had worsened, but it did not hold him back. On the contrary, it almost seemed as if he drew extra strength from the challenge. Bare-chested, as we know him best, and with a gaze that can still cut through the audience, he threw himself into the classics with a ferocity that reached into the beech trees.

The audience responded with cheers, shouts, and hands in the air, while the legend delivered a raw and uncompromising concert.

Iggy Pop may be marked by the years, but he is still living proof that real rock’n’roll never yields. An unforgettable evening with an icon in full flight.
