Judith Owen celebrates the holiday season with Xmas album “Winter Wonderland”

Jazz Queen Judith Owen is once again serving a festive treat with the release of three videos for the singles “Merry Christmas Baby”, “Santa Baby”, and “Back Door Santa”, taken from her Christmas album, “Winter Wonderland – Holiday Edition”, out now via Twanky Records.

Judith Owen, a performer whose stylistic range spans rock, pop, classical, jazz, blues, and musical theatre, Owen is also a comedic actress and master storyteller. Born into an overtly musical Welsh family, Judith Owen grew up in London surrounded by classical music, ballet, theatre, and the fine arts.  Owen was also exposed to many jazz icons and Broadway musicals that her parents loved (the mixture would become her signature sound).

Owen quickly began performing at a variety of different venues around London. Her unique hybrid of classical/jazz-influenced-styled sound soon affirmed a regular slot at Ronnie Scotts.

The album was recorded in New Orleans and London with her live band before heading out for a series of live shows in the US. It includes standards “Winter Wonderland”, “Sleigh Ride”, “The Christmas Song”, “Santa Claus Got Stuck (In My Chimney)”, “Merry Christmas Baby”, “Back Door Santa” and “Santa Baby”.

The album follows on from the release of her acclaimed studio album “Come On & Get It”, in which she celebrates the music of the uncompromisingly unsung ladies of Jazz from the 1940’s and 1950’s.
