Big news, because one of the most important singer-songwriters of the last 50 years has a new album out, ‘Driven’. On the album, the Irish Englishman collaborates with, among others, Mick Hucknall (Simply Red) and KT Tunstall. It is the follow-up to Gilbert O’ Sullivan’s self-titled 2018 album.

Gilbert O’Sullivan has been in the business for 55 years and is best known for the hits “Alone Again (Naturally)”, “Claire”, “Matrimony”, “Underneath the blanket go” and of course “Nothing rhymed”. With several hit singles (of which many made the top 10) and 20 albums out, O’ Sullivan’s music is significant for musical history in the singer-songwriter genre. “Nothing Rhymed”, which Gilbert wrote after seeing a documentary about the Nigerian civil war, was covered by big names like Morrissey, Yvonne Elliman and Tom Jones.

This year he is touring in the US, Japan, Norway, the Netherlands, UK, Ireland and Belgium. As Gilbert O’Sullivan’s media partner, Maxazine has received a stack of “Driven” CDs from Gilbert’s label BMG to give away in the Great Gilbert Giveaway.
