Maxazine Presents: Bingo Players Essentials (curated by Maarten Hoogstraten)
|Bingo Players is from the Netherlands, the country where so many big names in dance music come from. Originally started as a duo in 2006, Maarten Hoogstraten was forced to continue as a solo act from the end of 2013 as Bingo Player Paul Bäumer died too young at the end of 2013. The Bingo Players became a world wide known dance act just before that, after they had a mega hit in the summer of 2011 with the song “Cry (Just A Little)”, followed by “Don’t Blame The Party (Mode)” in 2012. And now, 2021, Bingo Players is back with “Holiday”, which was recorded with Oomloud and Séb Mont.
‘The past 18 months have been difficult for most of us,’ says Bingo Players. ‘The world has changed in many ways, we are more isolated than ever and many have missed time to be away with friends and family. I wanted to end the year with “Holiday”, a track that is uplifting and has a positive vibe and message. Whether you are going on vacation or celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, Kwanzaa or any other winter holiday, you can relax with this fun tune.’
This new tune is an important track for Bingo Players, as are a lot of other tracks released under that name. With an average of more than 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, almost everyone has heard a Bingo Players song at some point, but it’s often just just the hit singles that are so characteristic to an artist. The hits are chosen in collaboration with the label, while the artist often finds a number of other tracks to be part of his own musical footprint. Maxazine therefore asked Bingo Players themselves what the tracks are that are most characteristic of Bingo Players themselves. The only real way to get to know the artist better through, their own music.
